Research Associate

About the Role

The Research Associate will support the Operations and Project Management team in coordinating day-to-day project activities, maintaining workplans, and ensuring timely execution across multiple workstreams. The role will assist with project coordination, partner communication, documentation, and follow-up on action items to keep activities on track. It will also provide analytical support through structured research, data organisation, and preparation of briefs that inform operational decision-making. This position is well-suited for an early-career professional with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, implementation-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day project coordination, including tracking workplans, scheduling activities, and documenting progress across multiple workstreams.
  • Assist in planning and executing field operations, and stakeholder meetings, ensuring smooth logistics and timely follow-up with teams.
  • Conduct targeted literature and landscape reviews to inform programme design, implementation strategies, and operational decision-making.
  • Assist with data cleaning, organisation, and basic analysis to support monitoring, reporting, and adaptive management.
  • Prepare clear documentation including project briefs, internal reports, meeting minutes, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners, community teams, and field staff to maintain consistent communication.
  • Support routine monitoring of field activities through check-ins, verification exercises, and adherence to protocols and timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.

• Experience

  • 0-2 years.

• Skills

  • Strong interest in research and evidence-based program development.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Jira or other task-tracking tools.
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis software (Stata, R, NVivo, or similar) is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role.
